ICRA — International Association of Car Rental Companies

Today, the global car rental market is celebrating its centenary since the first car was rented in 1916. In the CIS countries, the rental market began to emerge in the mid-90s, but only 10 years later it began to actively develop. At that moment, representatives of all major international car rental chain brands appeared on the market, and national operators began to actively form. Established in 2007, the International Car Rental Association (ICRA) was primarily designed to help the young and rapidly developing market to popularize the car rental service. During this time, membership in the association has become a sign of quality in the car rental industry.

The main tasks of ICRA:
popularization of car rental services and development of a civilized market around the world
coordination of efforts to counter car scammers, car thieves and unscrupulous tenants
improving the quality of rental service and related services
consumer protection from unscrupulous car rental companies
reduce car rental risks when issuing a car to new customers

ICRA today:
More than 100 companies specializing in car rental without a driver have received membership in the association.
The fleet of participating companies at the end of 2016 amounted to more than 2,000 vehicles.
ICRA covers more than 70% of the car rental market in Ukraine and more than 20% worldwide, with regional offices in Europe.
A program to protect car rentals from fraudsters has been successfully implemented. Through joint efforts, more than a thousand hijacking attempts were prevented.
